I spent some time trying to finish up my December Daily last week. I still have a few gaps to fill, but I'm almost done. I shared Days 1-4 and 5-9 before we left for our holiday travels.
Here we go with Day 10. I made white chocolate peppermint bark for Billy's work potluck. It's so simple but I decided to write down the recipe since it's our favorite right now.
Days 11 and 12. On the left, I have a photo of the bread I baked. I thought about documenting the recipe but it needs some work so I figured it wasn't something I want in here forever. On the right, I have a group of photos from a long walk I took that day. There's a super cool trail by our place and it's still crazy to me that there is no winter in Austin.
Here are Days 13 and 14. I had to blur out the journaling on day 13. On day 14 my mom sent me a photo of the snow in her backyard. I decided to look for something near me to do a side-by-side comparison. I settled on a cactus soaking up the sun.
This year, I decided not to use consistent numbers throughout the album and instead make them for each day as I see fit. I like this way much better. Some days, I have a lot of photos and only have room for a small reference. Other days, I have more space to fill and get crafty with it. I had a lot of fun putting my numbers together for each day.
Here are days 15 and 16. You'll see as the days go by that the content gets much more random! I'm kind of obsessed with mixing silver and gold right now, which is what I did in the "sixteen". The silver letters are from the Target $1 Spot. I really should have grabbed about 5 more packs of them. Anyone know if they're still there?
This seems kind of lame to document but I really wanted to make a note of my favorite things right now. I work from home so I sort of have a "uniform" everyday. Basically, it includes Lululemon tights, a button down flannel or chambray shirt, boots or knee socks and a scarf. Every. Day. Also, before the move, I donated about 1/2 my wardrobe since I didn't wear most of it. I have really focused on only keeping clothing that I really love and wear. The white labels + text were added in Photoshop, then printed.
Days 17 and 18. Day 17 documents the extend of my holiday decor this year. I'm okay with it. On Day 18, I had nothing so I decided to mention that we had been watching Home Alone everynight on AMC.
I made 3x4" cards with each of our favorite movie quotes. Billy's on the left and mine on the right. I pulled a photo of the movie poster from the internet. I converted it to black and white in Photoshop so that the colors of the poster would not clash with my spread.
Here is day 19 on the left and the beginning of day 20 on the right. Day 19 was another "filler" day. We were super busy getting ready for our 17-day trip so I just included a few items from my to-do list and a picture my mom sent me of my niece.
As I mentioned, I have a few gaps to fill in the following pages. I need to get some photos from other people. The pages are done for the most part, just need the photos so I'll share once I get it all finished!
This is my second year doing a December Daily album. I have to say, finishing it January or February isn't always fun, but come December, I'm super glad I decided to finish my book. It's really fun to page through them and see what's changed from year to year.
Love it! It looks amazing!
