Day in the Life | June

I decided to play along and participate in Day in the Life on Saturday, June 1st. The last time I did this, it was a week day in February so I was able to capture a very different day this time around. 

9:00am | I wake up and check on my plants. That has become my new habit these days. I enjoy getting a bit of fresh air first thing in the morning, too.

I love our view. We know that this view is basically where half of our rent check is going, but we are young, have good jobs and no kids. We can spoil ourselves for a little bit. 

9:10am | I make some tea. My tea of choice today is Berry Good. I've started a habit of cleaning up the kitchen while my water boils. It takes a few minutes which is just enough time to sweep, wipe the counters or wash the dishes in the sink.

9:15 am | My routine everyday (work days & weekends) is to eat cereal, drink tea and catch up on my email/Pinterest/blogs/whatever. I used to eat Trader Joe's cereal but recently switched to homemade nut granola. It's an adaptation of this recipe, which was recommended via this blog. My sister recommended this recipe that I want to try too.

(I have shorts on in this photo. I feel compelled to mention that since it looks like I have no pants on. I do.)

10:00am | Time to start my "work" day. I call my shop work because it IS work. I spend a lot of time on my weekends working on things for the blog and shop. The light is better for photographs and I have a lot of free time. 

10:15 am | I take my photos in a little corner of our living room. To the right of this high-tech setup (stacked shoeboxes) is our bookshelf. To the left is a door that leads out to our balcony. The light is great for photos because it's bright, diffused light. This is where I take almost all my photos for the blog & shop.

10:30 am | This is our kitchen counter aka my workspace. I don't have a dedicated space of my own so I'm always making a mess somewhere. I drew a graphic for my sticker promotion in my shop and put it on the blog. Shameless plug! Buy One, Get One Free Stickers!

11:00 am | Soccer game! I've been playing in a co-ed soccer league with a girlfriend of mine. I played soccer my whole life and in college so it's fun to be playing again.

3:45 pm | Next up is suit shopping with Billy! He decided to cash in the credit he had from the tux rental from our wedding for a new suit. Guys have it so easy sometimes. We were in and out of there in about 40 minutes. Billy looks very handsome in his new suit. I can't wait to see him wear it!

I completely forgot to photograph most of our afternoon. Once I left the house for my soccer game, my mind was elsewhere. It wasn't until I sat down at the Men's Wearhouse while Billy tried on his suit that I remembered. Oh well. Not pictured is lunch at Panera Bread, hanging out at our friends' house for a bit, a trip to Paper Source and then Blick art store for paint. Basically we ran errands all afternoon. Good times.

5:30 pm | Back to "work" haha. I have wanted to list a new sticker option, Galaxy Stickers, in my shop for a while now. I spent a little time photographing them and called it a day.

Super busy day for a Saturday. It was a great day though! Once we got home from our errands, the weather turned and it started to rain pretty hard. We lounged on the couch watching TV and then (literally) ran over to the bar across the street for dinner and a couple beers. I love Saturdays.
