As mentioned in this post, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed Thursday morning. Boo. I hate when that happens, but it happens. I woke up at 7:30, check my email and start the tea kettle. Our green tea (instead of coffee) experiment is still going strong.
My other focus lately has been skincare. I have a growing collection of soaps & products that would make my best friend, Kelly, very proud. After packing up my gym bag and snacks for work, we're out the door by 8:35.
Work is pretty good. Our sales team is off to a tradeshow the following week, and part of my job is to coordinate all the marketing materials and deliveries for the show. The checklist side of my brain really loves this. I spend the morning packing up samples, folders, signs and end up with 4 big boxes to ship off to Orlando.
At lunch, I walked over to the Dominick's near by to get english muffins, peanut butter and a few other things. I am normally a Trader Joe's girl so I do not appreciate the variety offered at the big grocery stores. I think I spent 7 minutes choosing peanut butter. Then another 5 choosing the english muffins. I could go through Trader Joe's with my eyes closed so all these choices sort of just makes my head spin.
The rest of my workday included email, small tasks, eating snacks and drinking Red Velvet Cake tea. That flavor happens to be my absolute favorite right now. At Dominick's earlier, I discovered the amazingness that is Talenti Sea Salt Caramel Gelato.
I take the EL home and it's dark by now. I cannot wait until daylights savings time hits and I can savor a few extra hours of sunshine after my workday. I make my way around the corner to the gym for my absolute favorite workout class/personal hell. At my gym, there's a class called Tread. It's probably the hardest thing I have ever done. And when it comes to fitness, I have done some really hard things. Basically, the instructor yells out different intervals/speeds for 45 minutes. By the end of it I'm dripping sweat, exhaused and have run 4.6 miles. It's a good time.
I called my Mom and Dad on my way home from work to say hi. Also so that if I get attacked walking home in the dark, someone will know. (Yes, I am serious and I get the paranoia from my mom.) (I should note that I live in a well-lit, highly populated area in the City.)
Home finally. Long day. I make us fancy sandwiches for dinner. Fancy sandwiches are Proscuttio, Arugala, Basalmic Vinegar, Parmesean Cheese and a Fried Egg on an English Muffin. Told ya... fancy. We eat and watch 2 episodes of Friday Night Lights. After I'm done eating, I work on my hand-stitched ampersands in the shop. I'm in bed by 11:15 which is way too late but tomorrow is Friday so I'll manage.
It was a full day, and all things considered, it was a good day.
'Day in the Life' is a project started by Ali Edwards. You can read more about it here. I don't plan on doing it monthly, but hopefully a couple times of this year.

Hi, I am a recent follower but am hooked on your blog. (do I sound like a creeper yet?) I ordered some birthday cake tea for a good friend's birthday who lives far away and she loved it. Thanks for the idea.
