Up until recently, there was a big, gaping hole in our Project Life album from 2012. And it's kind of an important one...it's our wedding! With over 600 pictures to choose from, I had no idea what to include, what not to include in the 16 slots for the week of September 15th. So overwhelming. Maybe some of you think differently, but I think that it's documenting the big stuff that is hard, not the little stuff.
So I started small, and added from there. I picked my 2 favorite photos (of all time) and printed them as a divided 12x12" to put in the slots. You could finish there. It would be complete and good, but I was on a roll and decided to add more. Those 12x12" photos became the beginning and end pages for the week.
I used a trimmed down 8x10" page protector to hold all our paper materials; invitations, RSVP cards and rehearsal dinner information. I wanted to just keep that as-is, not cut it up for the pockets. I also didn't want a million little inserts so I just stuck them all into 1 sleeve.
I used a Design J protector to hold pictures from our rehearsal dinner (at Gino's East!). That was such a fun night. All the prep work was done, and just the anticipation was left. It was a fun, care-free evening with all of our closest family & friends. Oh, and unlimited deep dish pizza.
On the back side of that, I printed a picture of us with our bridal party and each of our families. Easy. Stop there? Nope.
I added another Design A page to hold all of my favorite pictures and details from the wedding day. Also, a few outtakes that I love but didn't have a spot for in the "official wedding album". I love the bridal portrait of me with Superman in the background. It makes me laugh and reminds me that we got married right in the middle of downtown Chicago.
A few more favorites. Our cute cake, the flowers. I also love the one of me laughing with my bridesmaids & sister/MOH right after the ceremony ended. What a crazy feeling! I just love how look so relieved and were wiping happy tears from our eyes.
(Let me claifiy that I don't love that they are pictures of me per say, but it's my surroundings that I love. I'm not that self-centered, haha. But I was the bride afterall!)
Our photographer, Justin, was amazing. He caught some amazing moments, some funny ones, the big ones, the little ones. I am so happy we picked to work with him. I loved his photojournalist style. It was perfect for us and our day.
(The other divided 12x12" and forever my favorite picture.)
So happy to have this "in the books". 2012 was the best year ever and this was certainly the number 1 reason why.

OH WOW! What a small, small world!! I came across your PL pages on Becky Higgins' blog... Billy and I went to high school together! (Hmm, some of the groomsmen look familiar too.) And I now live in Chicago, too. Congrats to you and Billy :)

Hi! I print at home, so I cropped the large photo into 4x6 3x4 pieces before printing. :)

I LOVE this idea of the divided photos! What kind of program are you using? I am brand new to pl and photo editing and can't figure it out in iPhoto ;-) Any input will be highly appreciated, thanks!!

Hi Caroline,
Thanks! I am using a reeeally old version of Photoshop, CS2. I dont know how to do this in iPhoto...not sure if theres an easy option. You could also get a 12x12 printed at Persnickety Prints or Costco and slice it up. Hope this helps! :)

Oh my god I love your book, it is so amazing and very inspirational. I'm not getting married until May but have already started to look for different options of album book/ scrapbooking for afterwards. And yours just looks amazing and you've made it seem so easy. Thank you for sharing
