FRIDAY
Dinner at Jimmy Greens. Billy and I sat outside, drank beer, ate and talked.
SATURDAY
Rain postponed my long run so we decided to go get some brunch at the new breakfast place down the street, Waffles. BUT there was a 2 hour wait so we settled on lunch at Pita Heaven.
The rain really started to come down while we were eating lunch so we (literally) ran across the street and ate ice cream at 11:30 am.

In the afternoon the weather cleared up and we felt like bums. Billy and I decided to go for a walk on the lake.

At night, we went to dinner at Zapatista. We tried to go to a new restaurant, The Scout, but that had a 2 hour wait as well. Billy and I decided that we're not going to get into any of the new restaurants near us for a few months, when the novelty wears off. That's fine though because all the restaurants around our place are new to us.

After that, we went to see Horrible Bosses. So funny. So much funnier than we thought it would be.
Saturday felt like 2 different days.
SUNDAY
Sunday started early with a long run for me. I'm not convinced that Mexican food is the best thing to eat the night before an 18 mile run.

I ran from 18th to Foster, then back to Roosevelt. The Air & Water Show was going on so I was able to watch a little bit of that on my run. There were a million people watching so it was pretty slow from Fullerton to Ohio Street Beach. The entire run took me just over 3 hours. I am glad I got up and out early so I could try and salvage some of my Sunday. Didn't really happen though. Once I got home, I crashed. The rest of the day consisted of food, shower, food, nap. Too exhausted for anything else.
Dinner came from Homemade Pizza Company. I did muster up the energy to walk and pick up the pizza. A whole 2 blocks (1 block there, 1 block back). Go me.
----------
All in all it was a good weekend. We ate a lot of good food. The super long, weekend runs really suck a huge chunk out of my weekend. Only 2 really long runs, 2 sort-of long runs, 1 half marathon and 1 single digit run (8 miles) away from the marathon. I cannot believe how fast summer is flying by. I'm trying to soak up the good weather while it's here.
