It's a new month which means a new set of layouts for the Simple Scrapper Design Team. Here's what I made:
Supplies Used: Persnickety Print 12x12" Photo, Freckled Fawn Lime Green Arrow Clip, BasicGrey Candy Buttons - Red/Pink & Aqua/Green, Amy Tangerine Yes, Please 6x6" Paper Pad, Studio Calico Atlantic Cork Sticker, My Mind's Eye My Girl Enamel Dots, Freckled Fawn Wood Chip Arrow, Studio Calico Heart Wood Veneer, Elle's Studio July Kit (Frame & Everyday Tabbed Card), Ormolu High 5 Snippet
In Training - I used one of the August sketch templates that somes with a Premium Membership to create this full photo layout. I had an Instagram printed at 12x12" through Persnickety Prints. I purposely chose a photo with a lot of negative space so that I could add in my embellishments. I never seem to have the right size photo to fit in the Elle's Studio frames so I just 'framed' a piece of patterned paper and some additional embellishments.
Supplies Used: Two Peas Aqua Star Clip, BasicGrey Micro Letter Stickers, Heidi Swapp Clear Pop Mint Alpha, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher // (I couldn't find sources for the following) Studio Calico Mister Huey - Letter Jacket, Studio Calico Wood Veneer Triangles, October Afternoon Chipboard Button
Growing Up - The Story Starter theme this month is Work & Play. These Story Starters are a list of prompts or ideas to help you get started on a page. I have to say, I appreciate the Story Starters more and more each month because there's no way I would have come up with this concept without a little nudge.
In my layout, I mentioned a few 'careers' that I remember wanting when I grew up. My dad told me that I could be a grocery store check-out girl if I wanted, but I still had to go to college. Good call, Dad. I hand lettered the subtitles/potential careers and painted the letters in with a small paintbrush and some Mister Huey's. The shade is called 'Letter Jacket'. I've been trying to figure out a way to incorporate more of my handlettering in my layouts. This seemed like a good start. I had fun making this layout and thought it was a unique way to combine my past and present.
